Helping Boston And Being Prepared
There’s no doubt it will be strange returning to business as usual after the awful events at the Boston Marathon. With yesterday’s tragedy weighing on our minds, here are some things we can do until we know more about the who and the why:
Donate to Boston Marathon runners’ charities.Use Google Docs to help stranded visitors find free lodging in Boston.- If you were at the marathon, let loved ones know you’re alright with through Red Cross’ Safe and Well. If you’re looking for someone or have information, use Google’s Person Finder.
- Though the Red Cross says it is stocked with enough blood donations in Boston, it’s never a bad idea to donate locally. Visit the Red Cross or NY Blood Center (which lists drives this week at Yeshiva of Flatbush and Midwood High School) to find out where you can give.
In addition, if you know of any fundraising efforts nearby, please let us know.
