Help P.S. 295 Keep Families Warm And Fed This Holiday Season

Looking for a way to give back to the community this holiday season? P.S. 295 (330 18th St, between 6th and 7th Avenue) is collecting gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, and grocery cards for school families who are struggling to make ends meet.

“Many members of our community rely on the cafeteria to provide breakfast and lunch for their kids daily,” the school explained on their Facebook page, “so during the break they struggle to stretch their supermarket budget or provide a holiday meal.”

The collection runs through December 17. Winter clothing will first be distributed to families within the P.S. 295 community, and then taken to the New York Cares coat drive. For more information, visit the P.S. 295 Facebook page, or contact parent coordinator Shari Fields at sfields7@schools.nyc.gov.
