Help Keep Park Slope Beautiful At The Fall Civic Sweep
Join the Park Slope Civic Council to beautify, recycle, and clean up the neighborhood at the Fall Civic Sweep on Saturday, October 19 from 10am to 2pm, rain or shine.
Volunteers will gather in front of the Old Stone House/JJ Byrne Playground, 5th Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets, before hitting local blocks to weed and mulch street trees, pick up litter on sidewalks, paint over graffiti on lampposts, and more. They’ll serve refreshments, and will provide all tools and supplies.
If you’d like to focus on 4th Avenue, meet at 10am at the Forth on Fourth Avenue committee’s new sub-irrigated planter on the southwest corner of 4th Avenue and St Marks.
Additionally, the Lower East Side Ecology Center will be on hand to collect and recycle electronics, and the Civic Council will be giving away daffodil bulbs for planting in public areas.
