Help CAMBA Feed Neighbors Your Way During Their Spring Food Drive

Remember how good it felt to help CAMBA put Thanksgiving meals in the hands of hundreds of neighbors last year? Now, you can recreate that feeling until Wednesday, April 30 with monetary or food donations during a flexible CAMBA food drive.

Unlike our turkey drive, the minimum monetary contribution on this month’s drive is only $10, which will supply 10 families with milk for three days. Between the Beyond Hunger Food Pantry‘s ability to get food items at below wholesale prices for their clients, and The Feinstein Foundation‘s pledge to match all tax-deductible monetary donations until the deadline later this month, even a Hamilton can do a ton of good!

Alternatively, neighbors are welcome to donate packaged goods instead of cash. Needed items include:

  • Canned tuna, salmon, and chicken
  • Regular and dried milk
  • Beans, fruit and, veggies
  • Pasta and cereal
  • Peanut Butter
  • 100% Fruit Juice

You can donate goods at the Flatbush Food Coop (1415 Cortelyou Road between Rugby and Marlborough Roads) from 11am-2pm on Saturday, April 26, or find the full list of CAMBA drop off centers, many of which are in the neighborhood, here.

All funds raised and saved by the pantry will go to continuing to provide CAMBA’s vital services to many of our neighbors, including growing and harvesting produce via their hydroponic garden–so if you’ve got a little extra cash or you’re hoping to clean out your cabinets this weekend, please consider lending them a hand.
