Hear Ye: Poets & Writers To Read Saturday, July 11 At The E. 4th Street Community Garden
This Saturday, July 11th at 3:30 pm, the East Fourth Street Community Garden welcomes all to a free reading by four Brooklyn poets and writers. On a mid-July afternoon, listen to these authors read their works and expect to be beguiled by their words, their voices and the lush verdant space. The E. 4th Street Community Garden is located mid-block behind the wrought iron fence, between Caton Avenue and Ft. Hamilton Parkway.
“Come and enjoy a wide variety of perspectives, metaphors, prisms, and rhythms in our beautiful summer garden,” encourages the Garden’s events planners. Here’s who is reading:
Regina Porter is an award-winning writer whose works have been presented at Playwrights Horizons, The Joseph Papp Theater, New York Stage & Film, The Woolly Mammoth Theater, and Horizons Theater Company. A prolific author, Shatzky has written fourteen published books and teaches at Kingsborough Community College.
John Rearick is a writer, an English teacher, and college counselor. He has published two books on mythology for young readers and has read his poetry at a variety of venues in New York. Currently he is working on a novel about World War II and its emotional impact on soldiers and their children.
