HBO Filming New Mick Jagger Series In South Slope On Thursday
HBO is starting production on its new series “Rock and Roll” and filming in much of our neighborhood on Thursday, June 4, so don’t plan to park in South Slope tomorrow. The series, which focuses on the music industry in the 1970s, is produced by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter.
The show stars Bobby Cannavale, as Richie Finestra, the founder and president of American Century Records, “who has a great ear for discovering talent and who undergoes a crisis of character when confronted with a life-altering decision,” according to Variety. Olivia Wilde stars at Richie’s wife and Ray Romano plays one of Richie’s partners.
Because of filming, parking will be unavailable in much of the neighborhood from 9am-11pm, including:
- Both sides of 3 Avenue between 10th Street and 13th Street
- East side of 3 Avenue between 8th Street and 10th Street
- Both sides of 13th Street between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue
