Happy Independence Day, everyone!

The Sheepshead Bites team rebelled against its despotic leader today, demanding the day off. They actually tied me to my office chair and took turns slapping me with a Nathan’s hot dog until I relented. I held out as long as I could – for the good of the readers, y’know? – but they wore me down with weiner puns.

And now most of them are probably filling their gullets with assorted grilled meats. Nothing says freedom like a clogged colon, amiright?

For those wondering, the Coney Island fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m. It’s supposed to be a good, clear sky tonight, so you should be able to see them from anywhere in Sheepshead Bay.
