Happy Hannukah!

Tonight at sundown we marked the first of 8 nights of Hannukah. This festival of lights celebrates a miracle, a day’s supply of oil that lasted seven more.

It is celebrated by a special prayer, lighting the menorah, lots of singing and eating latkes and other things fried in oil, spinning dreidels and getting little bags of chocolate gelt (or other presents)!

Happy holidays, neighbors!

P.S. – The big menorah at Grand Army Plaza will be lit every night with a free communal event. Check it out. It was today at 5:30 and will be every night at 6:00pm except for Friday at 5:30pm.

I’m a little latke, a sweet potato pancake, I come to you at Hannukah, because I’m good to eat 🙂
