Hank & JoJo Moving Classes, Expanding As All Ages Shopping Haven “Fort Greene General Store”
You may have noticed that Hank & JoJo (218 Dekalb Avenue between Adelphi Street and Clermont Avenue), neighbor Andriana Spence’s children’s goods store and event space, has been undergoing some renovations as of late. Along with a note in the window, Hank & JoJo announced today on Facebook that the changes will result in a new era for their music class program, aw well as a shop for adults as stylish as their little ones.
The space’s new incarnation, called the Fort Greene General Store, will still carry Hank & JoJo clothing and toys as well as jewelry by Anne Woodman and Kira Kira, carefully curated vintage apparel from Honeysuckle and Hearts, home wares by Red Hook’s Foxy + Winston, goods from Moleskine and Herschel Supply Co, and more. Andriana says she hopes to open next Tuesday, September 2, and plans on holding trunk shows and other events in the months to come.
“As the demand for music classes increased and we saw potential to grow the program,” Andriana explained when we stopped by this afternoon, “we decided to move them to the Brooklyn Music School.
“I looked around the space and felt that the neighborhood needed more than just a bigger toy store,” she says. “Now, we’ll have something for everybody.”
