Hand Found Floating Near Calvert Vaux Park

A dismembered hand was found floating near Calvert Vaux Park yesterday.

The limb was discovered in the water at around 4:41pm today near Shore Parkway between Bay 46th Street and Bay 48th Street in the creek near the park, cops said. Police say the hand appeared to have been in the water a long time.

NYPD harbor units will continue their search today for a torso and other body parts.

The Medical Examiner is still trying to determine who the hand belonged to and the cause of death. We will update you as we know more.
