Below is a roundup of some recent crimes around the neighborhood:

  • Neighbor Janice’s car was broken into about two weeks ago on Dorchester between Westminster and Stratford. The thieves found nothing to take (they let her keep her Bruce Hornsby cassette) but searched the car. Janice wrote, “The cops took two hours to arrive (never actually did – neighbors flagged a car down and I cajoled them into taking my report). Fortunately: $90 to fix the window in under two hours at the auto glass place on CIA by Cortelyou.”
  • A 22-year-old was arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint on Ocean Avenue and Avenue H at 12:45 am on August 12. The suspect allegedly took jewelry, cash and drugs from the victim.
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested for robbing a man at knife-point inside an apartment on Cortelyou and E. 22nd Street on August 12. The suspect allegedly stole the victim’s cell phone and then fled.
