Green-Wood’s Giant Napping Squirrel

The City Birder spotted a napping groundhog recently in nearby Green-Wood Cemetery:

This large squirrel is native to North America and Green-Wood Cemetery is one of only a few places where remnant populations can still be found within New York City.

I recently spotted beavers in the Bronx River and what looked like a muskrat in Manhattan. On second thought, maybe it was a groundhog?

Is it just us or are there a whole lot of critters roaming around these parts lately? What other animals are creeping and crawling nearby?
