A 28-year-old Gravesend woman has won the Coney’s Cones “Find Your Flavor” contest and will be creating her winning entry on Wednesday with the store’s master gelato maker Daniele Dal Sasso.

Arianne Elshawarby, a mother of two and biotechnology student at Kingsborough Community College, said she and her family “absolutely love” chocolate macaroons and thought the cookie would make an excellent gelato flavor, according to a press release.

Luna Park’s Find Your Flavor contest allowed gelato lovers to choose from more than 50 ingredients in order to create and name a unique signature gelato flavor that will be sold at Coney’s Cones.

The public voted for the winning flavor and Elshawarby’s gelato was chosen over more than 100 entries in the contest. Her ingredients include include almond, chocolate chip, chocolate and coconut and will become one of 24 hand-crafted flavors offered daily at Coney’s Cones.

“I am very excited about winning this contest and getting the chance to actually make the gelato with a true expert from Italy,” Elshawarby said in the press release. “I like to cook and bake but I’ve never made ice cream or gelato before.”

Elshawarby will work side-by-side throughout the entire gelato-making process with Dal Sasso, who brought his hand-made gelato recipe from Vincenza, Italy to the Coney’s Cones location on the Riegelmann Boardwalk (1023 Boardwalk West) near Luna Park.

Elshawarby also won a $50 gift certificate to Coney’s Cones and a Family 4-Pack to Luna Park.

Jammie Rojas, from the Bronx, won 1st Runner-Up in the contest for her “Whipped Nae Nae” flavor, which included banana, whipped cream and Nutella. Tanya Lamas, a 33 year old from Long Island, was named 2nd Runner-Up for ‘Banapple’ with apple banana and coconut milk. Both were given gift certificates to Coney’s Cones.
