A Glimpse Of What’s To Come At Picket Fence

Picket Fence (1310 Cortelyou Road) officially closed its doors Sunday – and while we haven’t heard an exact opening date for the new Indian restaurant that will soon replace it, employees told us the menu will be very similar to the owner’s other Indian restaurant, Asya, in Brooklyn Heights.

When we spoke to employees at Picket Fence during last week’s Cortelyou at Twilight, they gave us a menu from Asya, which shows entrée prices ranging from $22 for the rack of lamb to $12 for such dishes as the saag paneer, malai kofta, chana masala, and more. For $14, you can get such dishes as tikka masala and tandoori chicken. Appetizers range from $14 (a combination platter for two that includes chicken tikka, chicken malai kebab, fish tikka, and more) to $6 for lentil, chicken, or tomato basil soup.

There’s a $16 prix-fixe option as well, for which you get one appetizer and one entrée from the prix-fixe menu. A $9 lunch box includes a dish of chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, tandoori chicken, lamb saagwala, matar muchroom, or channa masala.

You can see Asya’s entire menu online here.

When the new Indian restaurant opens at 1310 Cortelyou, the employees also told us it will have new décor as well.

What are you hoping the new restaurant will offer? Do you plan on going there?
