Get Hungry: Neighborhood Brunch Updates

As if we needed another reason to leave the house in elastic waist pants on the weekend, two restaurants are now serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Soigne Restaurant & Wine Bar (486 6th Ave) will now be open for brunch from 11am-3pm on Saturdays (in addition to the existing Sunday brunch). In addition to the complimentary coffee, tea or juice and housemade sticky buns, try a Biloxi Johnny (their house-made Bloody Marys) with bacon or rock shrimp, then move on to a lobster omelet or a great twist on a traditional soul food specialty: chicken and pumpkin waffles. See the full menu here.

Also starting this weekend, the new pizzeria Brooklyn Central will be open for brunch from 11:30am-3:30pm. Eater says to expect “a lot from the regular menu, plus a number of breakfast pies,” and HPS describes a banana stonecake, which sounds pretty amazing if you’d prefer something sweet.
