Where To Get Christmas Trees Near Ditmas Park & Kensington

Even though we’re still eating turkey and pumpkin pie leftovers, the pundits agree: It’s time to start hunting for the perfect Christmas tree. Here’s your list of the best spots to buy a beautiful holiday fir around Ditmas Park and Kensington this holiday season.

  • Almac Hardware (2 Newkirk Plaza) just got their tree shipment in today. They’re open Monday–Friday 8:30am-7pm, Saturday 8:30am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-5pm.
  • Houle’s Tree Farm, behind Brooklyn ARTery (1021 Cortelyou Road) and Pilates On Cortelyou (1019A Cortelyou Road) has organic Fraser firs available from 9am-8pm seven days a week. They are also offering delivery service. [Update 12/13: Houle’s Tree Farm sold out last night!]
  • J&L Landscaping (702 Caton Avenue between E 7th and E 8th Streets) has fresh cut trees from Canada, wreaths of all sizes, and tree stands. They’re open from 8am-6pm Monday through Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sundays.
  • Superior Late Nite Deli (1402 Cortelyou Road on the corner of Rugby Road) has trees just around the corner at their flower shop. And here’s the best part: they’re open 24 hours, so you can shop for trees in the wee hours.
  • The Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket (Prospect Park West and Flatbush Avenue) is open on Saturdays from 8am-4pm and will have trees until December 19.
  • Shannon Florist & Nursery (3380 Fort Hamilton Parkway between Bills Place and Chester Avenue) has trees and is open 8am-5pm Monday through Saturday and 8am-3pm on Sundays.
  • Christmas Tree Brooklyn (184 Underhill Avenue) is based Prospect Heights but will deliver your tree to anywhere in the city, so if you really don’t feel like lugging one home, this might be a good option. Give them a call at 347-474-0079.
