Gentle Jack Needs A New Home ASAP

A neighbor in the process of moving for work got in touch with us about her sweet and adorable dog Jack, who it turns out will be unable to live in his owner’s new city.

“We’re moving to Denver this week for a job,” she says, “and have just been warned by our vet that it’s very risky to bring our pit mix, Jack, because there’s a county-wide ban on pit bulls in Denver. She’s lived there in the past and knows horror stories of dogs being taken from their owners on the spot… we just can’t risk that with our sweetheart, Jack.

“He’s a 9 yr old Mastiff/Boxer/Pit mix, 68 lbs., all shots up to date. He’s a total sweetheart, thinks he’s a lap dog, is great with kids, sleeps 20 hours a day, and loves to take walks and go hiking.

“He’s not a barker, nor does he dig or chew his owner’s belongings. He likes other dogs, but has never lived with another animal so should probably be the only pet in the home.

“We’re looking to find him a loving home ASAP, but are of course concerned about giving him to strangers,” she says. “We have a foster home for him with our neighbor, but it won’t last forever so we need to find him something permanent, and wonderful, as soon as we can.”

Jack is crate trained for whenever his people are out, and comes with a crate, leash, collar, and big bag of food to get his future person started. If you think he’d be a good match for you, email damickelsen@yahoo.com–or if you can’t accommodate him right now, please help spread the word!
