Gather Ye Roses While Ye May: The Park Florist to Close at the End of June

The Park Florist is ending their 40 year run in the neighborhood at the end of the month, which means another vestige of Old Park Slope is about to disappear into the sands of time. But Here’s Park Slope assures us that owners Simon and Doris Silberman are closing up the 7th Avenue shop on their own terms: after nearly half a century in the petal business, they’ve decided to retire.

Knowing that the Silbermans are shuttering the store doors to enter a new phase of life (not because they’ve been priced out of the neighborhood) makes us feel a whole lot better about taking advantage of the 50% off closing sale (furnishings included). Word from the scene is that stuff’s going fast, so if you’ve been planning to stock up on botanical accessories, now’s the time.
