From Boing Boing To Deli On 6th Avenue

When the mom-centric shop Boing Boing closed last summer after 18 years in business on the corner of 6th Avenue and Union Street, it left a vacancy that’s apparently been tough to fill — but progress has been spotted, and a new space is getting ready to open there.

The storefront at 204 6th Avenue will soon be some kind of deli, reports Here’s Park Slope, who spoke to the owner recently, who told them he’ll have “coffee, sandwiches, salads, and other simple fare, and the ample front yard would have outdoor seating.”

Given that it’s not on one of the main drags, but still is right near some hopping places for food — Rose Water next door, and Hunan Delight across the street — it will be interesting to see how this does. Is it something you think this block could use?
