Free Trees! Compost For Brooklyn Gives 100 Shrubs Away Next Sunday

If you’ve been looking to add some green in your life, you’re in luck! Compost for Brooklyn is holding a Fall tree giveaway next Sunday, October 20. The group will be giving away 100 free trees at their community garden on the corner of Newkirk Avenue and E 8th Street from 12-2pm.

Can’t take a tree home or aren’t available on the 20th? You can still volunteer with Compost for Brooklyn–they’re currently in need of a shift leader and volunteer coordinator. If you’re interested in either position, email compostforbrooklyn@gmail.com. And of course, you can always drop in during the garden’s open hours on Thursdays and certain Saturdays through the end of November.
