Good news for those who live closer to the Myrtle and Willoughby Avenue sides of Fort Greene Park: the greenmarket is shifting its vendors to stretch farther north along Washington Park, beginning this Saturday, September 19.

“By moving producers to one side of the sidewalk, we will reduce congestion within the market and enhance the overall shopping experience,” explained Caroline Hiteshew, regional coordinator for Brooklyn and Staten Island greenmarkets for GrowNYC. “By expanding further north on Washington Park, we hope to make the market more accessible to communities north of the park.”

Produce currently in season this September/October includes fall favorites like apples, winter squash, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and more.
