Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Rental Roundup

Looking for an apartment to rent around Fort Greene or Clinton Hill? We’ve rounded up a few spaces available in the neighborhood to help you on your hunt. If you live in one of the apartment buildings, let prospective neighbors know how you like it.

Spacious Garden Two Bed
Available: Immediately
Price: $3,350, plus broker fee
Details: This first floor unit on Gates between Irving and Downing isn’t the cheapest out there, but it just might be worth the price. Two bedrooms without shared walls offer privacy, an office makes the apartment a real live/work space, large common areas give you room to spread out and entertain, and a personal washer and dryer make for easy laundry days. Plus, you’ll be conveniently smack between the C and G lines for wherever your subway travels may take you, you’ll have access to your very own yard, and pets are allowed. That about covers our dream apartment checklist.

No Fee Three Bed Duplex
Available: Immediately
Price: $3,666 net rent, no broker fee
Details: This place for three on Clifton between Grand and Classon includes two floors’ worth of vintage details like tin ceilings and exposed brick, plus modern upgrades in the kitchen and bathroom. Also of interest are in building laundry as well as a shared backyard and roof deck, and pets may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. The promise of no broker fee and a month’s free rent on this place are pretty enticing, too–just make sure you’re clear on the unit’s net vs actual rent before you fall in love.

Too Good to be True Four Bed?
Available: Immediately
Price: $3,800, plus broker fee
Details: The first time we looked at this place on Washington between Gates and Fulton, we thought, “A four bed for how much?!” The second time we looked, we thought, “With two bathrooms?!” The third time, we started wondering about the whole “tenant pays all utilities” yelling at the bottom of the listing and scaffolding visible on the building next door. Still, the unit has a lot going for it with its open kitchen/dining space, doorman, dishwasher, bike storage, and in building laundry at that base price, so it could still be worth a gander.

Rehabbed Row Home Three Bed Off Myrtle
Available: Immediately
Price: $4,750, plus broker fee
Details: It’s a shame there are no current interior photos of this top floor three bed on Hall Street, because it sounds like a recent renovation really did its original details justice (that said, you can get a glimpse at what this beauty has to offer in its old sale listing). Besides those lovely archways and floor to ceiling windows, we’re also impressed by the extra half bath, central A/C, fancy kitchen and walk in closet, private laundry room, and shared backyard mentioned in the rental listing. What say you?
