Black Artstory Month

Where: Participating businesses along Myrtle Avenue, between Carlton and Classon Avenues

Conversations: Replicas of Masterwork Paintings
When: Through Friday, March 27
Where: Pratt Institute, President’s Office Gallery, Main Building, 1st floor, entrance on Willoughby Avenue
What: Professor of Fine Arts Frank Lind presents a body of work created over the course of the last 15 years, employing old master techniques in the re-creation, re-imagining, and “updating” of well-known masterwork paintings.

South African Storytelling and Mask-Making

What: Watch a performance of King Lion’s Gifts, Nelson Mandela’s favorite story and then join us in making masks of the South African animals presented in the tale.

BRIC Media Education

What: Our orientation is a great introduction to what community access television is all about–from the sense of community, to the state-of-the-art television studios, to the variety of classes available with BRIC Media Education.

“Town Hall” Comedy Show

Where: Sisters Brooklyn Restaurant at 900 Fulton Street
What: “Town Hall” is a character show done in the style of a town hall meeting where comedians present and debate issues concerning Fort Greene/Clinton Hill. Audience participation is highly encouraged. Will we get anything done? Come join us!

Myrtle Avenue Quarterly Real Estate Breakfast
When: Wednesday, February 4 from 8:30-10am
Where: The Joint On Myrtle at 471 Myrtle Avenue

AARP Free Tax Help and Preparation

What: For low and middle income taxpayers. First come, first served. To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms. For a list of documents you may need to bring, visit the AARP website.

ShapeUp! NYC Aerobics Class
