Putnam Plaza Triangle Forum
When: Monday, September 15, 6pm
Where: Grace Agard Harewood Neighborhood Senior Center (966 Fulton Street between Grand Avenue and Cambridge Place)
What: Join the FAB Alliance to discuss the future of the plaza, which is currently made of temporary materials. What would you like to see there?

Babies and Books
When: Tuesday, September 16, 2-3pm
Where: Walt Whitman Library (93 St Edwards Street at Auburn Place)
What: This program, designed for infants up to 18 months, introduces kids to the joys of storytelling and performance with books, music, and rhymes.

Public Speaking and the Three C’s
When: Wednesday, September 17, 6-7pm
Where: MetroTech Commons
What: General Assembly returns for another gratis business skills workshop–this time surrounding public speaking, creative delivery, and turning text into engaging talks.

Exhibition: La Selva’s Celina Paíz
When: Thursday, September 18, 6-9pm
Where: Brooklyn Weavers’ Guild (47 Hall Street between Park and Flushing Avenues)
What: Paíz, who uses vintage Guatemalan textiles to make clothing line La Selva, will present her work at this new event for the BWG. Wine and refreshments will be served.

Aja Monet Performance
When: Friday, September 19, 12pm
Where: MetroTech Commons
What: This no-cost appearance by Brooklyn poet Monet is part of this year’s BEAT Festival. Bring your lunch and enjoy her gestural wordplay.

Oktoberfest Kickoff
When: Saturday, September 20, 7pm
Where: Black Forest Brooklyn (733 Fulton Street between South Portland Avenue and South Elliott Place)
What: Local beer destination Black Forest will be starting this year’s monthlong Oktoberfest celebration with a set by Slavic Soul Party, Bavarian food and drink specials, a keg tapping ceremony (featuring free beer from said keg), and even a mug holding competition.

Pre-People’s Climate March Breakfast
When: Sunday, September 21, 9:15am
Where: Fowler Square (at Lafayette Avenue and South Elliott Place)
What: Local group Fort Greene Peace will be participating in this year’s march, and are recruiting neighbors to come along. Before they head into Manhattan for the main event, however, they’ll be holding a breakfast event in our area. After the meal, marchers will proceed together to Columbus Circle.
