Fort Greene resident and writer/director Sebastian Silva has taken his fifth film to Sundance.

The Kristen Wiig-fronted film “Nasty Baby” — set and filmed in Fort Greene and co-starring Silva as one half of a gay couple who is trying to have a baby — is being featured as part of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, which runs from January 22 (today) through February 1.

Here’s the full movie synopsis:

Brooklyn artist Freddy (Sebastian Silva) is baby obsessed. His new project centers around newborns, and he and his boyfriend, Mo, have recruited their best friend, Polly (Kristen Wiig), to help them have a baby. On top of dealing with the stress of opening an art installation and the complications of conceiving a child via artificial insemination, the three begin to be harassed by The Bishop, a mentally ill neighborhood man. An escalating series of incidents threaten to derail the comfortable lives these people have built for themselves.

The film also stars Tunde Adebimpe (from TV on the Radio fame), as well as Alia Shawkat, Mark Margolis and Reg. E Cathey, and is being listed on a fewhighly anticipated” lists.

Explaining the film’s inspiration, Silva told Filmmaker Magazine in 2013 that it came naturally:

There are people who take six years writing screenplay. I’m like, “Let it go.” If the story doesn’t come just doesn’t come naturally and freely and spontaneously, you’re trying too hard. I’m really not trying to change the world with my movies. I’m just trying to have a good time and to collaborate with fun, smart people.
