The Flatbush Tenant Coalition will host a candidates’ forum to address the issues that are most important to  community members voting in the September 13 primary (that’s us!)

This is an opportunity to hear where the candidates from New York State Assembly Districts 42, 43, 44, 57 & 58 and Senate Districts 20 & 21, stand on meaningful issues like affordable housing, jobs, education, childcare, transportation, and gentrification — and tell those candidates what’s most important to you.

The forum will take place this Saturday, July 16 at 9:45am at St. Paul’s Church in the Village of Flatbush, at 157 St. Paul’s Place, between St Paul’s Court and Church Avenue.

From the Flatbush Tenant Coalition:

This time of year we pay a lot of attention to the country’s upcoming Presidential elections – and rightfully so. But what our lives will look like as NYC and Flatbush/Ditmas Park/PLG residents will be equally (or even more) determined by our local elections for NY State Senate and Assembly. Join our tenant leaders this Saturday, July 16th for our 2016 NY State Senate & Assembly Candidate Forum to hear what’s important to our neighbors, voice what’s important to you, and hear about our state candidates’ vision and plans for our community. Candidates for elected office need to hear what we expect them to do, and they need to see that the community is watching.

Some of the attending candidates include:

Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte of District 42, which represents Midwood, Ditmas Park, and Flatbush. 

Assembly Member Diana Richardson of District 43, which represents Prospect Lefferts Gardens, East Flatbush, Wingate and Crown Heights.
