Flashback Friday: Snowy ’47 At 6th Avenue And Berkeley Place

Photo via Brooklyn Public Library

We’re not sure what 6th Avenue and Berkeley Place will look like tomorrow (1 inch? 8 inches? 18 inches?), but this is how it looked in 1947.

Taken in 1947, the photo caption reads: “Three men clearing snow with shovels on street and sidewalk at corner of Sixth Avenue and Berkeley Place in Park Slope; one supervisor to right of shoveling men; snow plow pushing snow before men; police officer signaling to traffic in right foreground; bare tree and lamppost with street signs on sidewalk; row of brownstones on Sixth Avenue in background.”

The image is part of the Brooklyn Public Library Prints and Photographs Division.
