Are you terrified by Friday the 13th? Do you get out of bed and just assume something awful is going to happen?

Well, today, dear neighbors, we are going to protect you. And frankly, we recommend you walk by this very lucky intersection in Park Slope today and every future Friday the 13th.

If you look up at the intersection of 7th and 1st Street (the “southeast corner”), you’ll notice the “7 AV” sign is black.

Gothamist reports that the “7 AV” is a historical remnant dating back to its installation in 1964. The Department of Traffic — which it was known at the time — installed vinyl color-coded aluminum street signs throughout the five boroughs.

Forgotten New York writes that the color of the sign varied by borough. Brooklyn signs were black with white lettering. And for those with a font fetish, the signs used:

If you’re curious about the other boroughs, both Manhattan and Staten Island received yellow and blue lettering, The Bronx had blue signs with white lettering, and Queens had white signs with blue lettering.

What it all boils down to is that you have nothing to worry about. 7 AV has your back. Then again, some consider the number 13 to be a very lucky number.

And don’t worry, we don’t have another Friday the 13th until January 2017.

Stay lucky, my friends.
