Fire on Bedford Ave Leaves 8-Year-Old Boy Dead

At just before 3am this morning, police and FDNY responded to a call of a fire a home at 2765 Bedford Ave, near Farragut Road, and police say that once the fire was extinguished they discovered an 8-year-old boy, unconscious and unresponsive, who was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

A source told the Daily News that the blizzard did not significantly affect response time.

Police say the incident does not appear suspicious at this time, and the Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
