Fire In Apartment Building On Prospect Park West Wednesday Morning

A small fire broke out on the roof of an apartment building on Prospect Park West this morning, causing a commotion but thankfully no injuries.

According to the FDNY, the fire at 212 Prospect Park West, at the corner of 16th Street, was called in at about 10:50am Wednesday morning, and they had it under control about 15 minutes later.

Though several trucks were on hand, blocking traffic along the street, the fire was described as minor. The FDNY says there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, though a source says it was likely due to rubbish on the roof.
