Feltman’s Officially Open In Coney Island
As of this morning, Feltman’s “the original hot dog” is officially back in Coney Island, corner of Surf Avenue and West 10th street, the exact spot where Charles Feltman opened its first stand to sell hot dogs on a Thursday 150 years ago.
Feltman’s made its debut in April with a small kiosk inside Luna Park.
This location is bigger and offers seating.
Owners Michael Quinn and Joe Quinn cut the ribbon a few minutes before noon on Memorial Day.
Happy customers braced the rainy morning to get a chance at one of 150 free hotdogs that Feltman’s was giving away to the first 150 customers willing to share the event on their social media.
The hot dogs are made with all natural beef, garlic, sea salt, zero nitrates and no artificial ingredients.
The original hot dog is served with onions, sauerkraut and mustard for $3.90.
Kids hot dog (without the casing which can be a choking hazard for small kids) is $3.44.
There are also Feltman’s Chili Dog and Feltman’s Chili Cheese Dog, as well as the “Al Capone”, with Michael’s red sauce and cheese:
The hot dogs are excellent, and we wish them lots of success. With a bit of luck, Feltman’s may yet return to their former glory days:
