FDNY Responds To Another Fire In Prospect Park Monday

A second brush fire broke out in Prospect Park Monday evening at approximately 6:20pm, the FDNY reports.

Twelve engines and 65 firefighters arrived at the scene near Prospect Park Lake at Well House and West Drives where a tree was on fire, the FDNY states. The fire was under control by approximately 7:45pm.

This is the second fire in the park in two days, with the FDNY responding to a small brush fire at Prospect Park West and 9th Street at about 3:19pm Sunday afternoon, BKLYNER reported yesterday. Sunday’s fire was under control just after 6pm.

No injuries resulted in either incident and the cause of both fires is under investigation.
