Music Trivia with Shane and Ruth
When: Tuesday June 7 at 7pm
Where: Bar Chord, 1008 Cortelyou Road
What: Five rounds of music trivia, including a “name that tune” audio round with pop, rock, rap, country, show tunes, jazz, classical, crunkcore, post-crunkcore (you’ll have to fill us in on that one…). Prizes include free drinks, music, and more.
How Much: FREE, (but again, show the bar some love)

Creative Writing Class for Adults
When: Tuesday June 7 at 6:15pm
Where: Brooklyn Public Library Cortelyou branch, 1305 Cortelyou Rd at Argyle
What: Join the New York Writers Coalition for a session of writing and sharing your work in a supportive group.

Drop The Mike – All Female Stand Up Comedy Show
When: Wednesday June 8 at 8pm, and every second Wednesday of the month.
Where: Sycamore Bar & Flower Shop,
What: Hosted by Kendra Cunningham, who has been doing comedy in NYC for 10 years. This week’s lineup features Khalid Rahmaan, Dava Krausse, Ophira Eisenberg, Sarah Tollemache, and Anna Drezen.
How Much: FREE, but be sure to grab a drink (or two) at the bar.

Celebrate Brooklyn! Opening Night Show: Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings
When: Wednesday June 8 at 8:15pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, entrance on 9th Street & Prospect Park West.
What: Didn’t catch Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings when they played the bandshell in 2010? (Too bad, it was awesome) — don’t miss this one, kicking off the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn summer concert series.

PS 217 Music In The Garden Series

Where: PS 217, 1100 Newkirk Avenue at Coney Island Ave
