Blizzard? Blame Train Tracks and Alaska

Forget global warming and climate change! The Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported on January 15, 1888, that some thought an increase in blizzard intensity was due to railroad tracks…or the annexation of Alaska.

So, if you’re cursing the oncoming storm this morning, leave Mother Nature out of it. This is all Alaska’s doing.
