Eat Local & Learn At The Farm On Adderley’s Upcoming “Meet The Farmers” Dinner
This coming Monday, September 30, join Ben Flanner of Brooklyn Grange, Jon Wilson of Staten Island’s Snug Harbor Heritage Farm, and the Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative for an educational Meet the Farmers Dinner at The Farm on Adderley (1108 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads).
Flanner and Wilson (both of whom supply fresh produce for The Farm’s seasonal menus) and the LFFC (representatives of 75 Lancaster County, PA farms) will discuss the enduring importance of locally-grown food at the 7:30pm event, which will be raising funds for a Farm-to-Restaurant Producer Summit to be held by Slow Food NYC and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York in November.
“If the use of the words ‘local’ and ‘sustainable’ seem like a fad,” says Stephen of The Farm, “then find out why it’s actually a crucial movement that will shape your future and everything in it.”
$65 covers a five-course dinner without tax, beverages, or tip. To reserve a spot, contact thefarmonadderleyevents@gmail.com.
