EAST NEW YORK – A man was found shot dead inside a car outside the Breukelen Houses in East New York over the weekend.

Responding to a call of an assault in front of 763 East 108 Street on the morning of Saturday, January 27, police found the body of 33-year old Esley Porteous in the front passenger seat of a parked SUV, said the NYPD.

A gunman dressed in all black approached the vehicle at 8:40 am and fired at Porteous, reported the Daily News. As of Saturday night, the killer was still at large, while police searched for surveillance video that might have captured the murder.

Porteous was shot multiple times in the torso, said police, and responding EMS pronounced the man deceased at the scene. An investigation into his death is underway, said officials.
