Dust Off Those Handlebars And Bike To Work On May 17

If you’ve ever thought about ditching the car/bus/train and riding the two-wheeler into work, this coming Friday is your golden opportunity.

Bike to Work Day, hosted by Transportation Alternatives, the non-profit organization that advocates for NYC bicyclists, will take place from 7am to 10am on Friday, May 17. In addition to special deals on Transportation Alternatives memberships and free T.A. bike light and RydeSafe reflective decals, fueling stations across the five boroughs will be offering free iced coffee, breakfast from Kind and Cabot, and coconut water from Vita Coco.

If you’re traveling from Brooklyn to Manhattan, fueling stations can be found at the Brooklyn tower of the Brooklyn Bridge, and at the Manhattan side of the bike exit on the Manhattan Bridge.

That evening, stop by the Bike Home From Work Party, set to take place at the archway under the Manhattan Bridge (Water St. between Adams and Pearl St.) in Dumbo from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The celebration will feature food and drink vendors, pop up shops, and even a reflective fashion show (which sounds wicked cool).

Best of all, if you RSVP for the Bike Home From Work Party, you’re automatically entered to win prizes from a number of fantastic vendors.

For more information on the festivities, visit the Bike to Work Day Website, or call (646) 873-6036.
