Drunk Santa Survives Clinton Hill Subway Plunge
A drunken straphanger wearing a Santa hat narrowly avoided being run over by a subway an hour after Christmas Day.
Daily News reported that it was unclear if the man accidentally fell or deliberately jumped in front of a southbound A train at the Clinton-Washington Avenue station on Monday, December 26 at approximately 1am.
According to witness reports, the man wore a black-and-white Santa Claus hat before the incident.
After the motorman saw the fallen victim, he hit the brakes, however, the subway was unable to come to a stop before “the front two cars rolled over the victim,” reported the News. The man avoided being struck, cops said.
The man was transported to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Park Slope and was treated for a broken leg.
