Donate Your Used Books To The Friends Of Cortelyou Library Book Sale

Book lovers mark your calendars, the Friends of Cortelyou Library Annual Book Sale is approaching! The sale will be Saturday, October 29 from 11am–4pm in the plaza in front of the library at Cortelyou and Argyle Roads, featuring live music.

But before that, take this opportunity to purge your collection and give back to the literary community.

Give your books a good home by donating them to the library sale (especially those stacks too big to fit in the Little Free Library Projects sprinkled throughout the neighborhood.)

You may drop them off at the Cortelyou library between Monday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 26 during Library open hours. Nearly all kinds of gently used books are welcome — especially children’s books (but please refrain from donating out-of-date materials, like old computer software manuals, or anything that is damaged).

Not ready to let go of your books? Volunteers are needed to sort books on Thursday, October, 27 from 12pm–3pm and Friday, October 28 from 10am–1pm; set up on Saturday, October 29 and clean up after the sale.

There will also be a baked goods sale during the fundraiser, so if any of you bakers out there would like to donate something sweet or volunteer your time, please email the Cortelyou Friends at cortelyoulibraryfriends@gmail.com.
