Ditmas Park Weekend Events

It’ll be interesting to see how Prospect Park fares after today’s big event — anyone going? But, from a country fair to live jazz to meditative chanting, there’s a lot to do with the kids (and plenty for the grown-ups, too!) even if you don’t have tickets to the Worldwide Day of Play.

Saturday, September 21

• The Worldwide Day of Play takes over Prospect Park, 10am-4pm.
Lavender Blues music group for babies and toddlers at Lark, 10am.
• Find a bargain at a yard sale at Flatbush-Tompkins, 10:30am-4pm…
• …Then take a bite out of the church’s International Food Fair, 12-4pm.
Vigil for Kyam Livingston on Church Ave & 18th St, 12pm.
Alex Levin and guests play jazz at Purple Yam, 12:30-2:30pm.
Join the Brooklyn Bird Club for a walk starting at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, 12-1pm.
• The 2nd Annual Breukelen Country Fair is at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum, 1-5pm.
Opera on Tap fundraiser in a Stratford Rd backyard, 2pm.
Tour Prospect Park with the authors of a new book about it, Dweck Center at the Central Library, 2pm.
• Kids can churn butter and more at the Lefferts Historic House, 2 and 3pm.
Mother/daughter ballet makeover party at DF Studios, 2-5pm.
Honey, Dear plays vintage jazz at Lark, 4pm.
• Bring the kids to chant and sing at a Kirtan class at Jaya Yoga East, 7pm.
• Hear rootsy, classic songs from Misery Loves Company at 773 Lounge, 9pm.

• Neighborhood-wide yard sale in West Midwood, 10am-4pm.
Multi-family yard sale at 353 E 17th St, 10am-4pm.
Run, walk, drink wine, and adopt a pet in Park Slope to support Sean Casey, 12pm.
• Kids can pull potatoes then race in potato sacks at the Harvest Festival at the Lefferts Historic House, 1-4pm.
• Jazz for the family with Yoon Choi at Lark, 4pm.
Support group for breastfeeding moms at Lark, 5pm.
• Bring your guitar and join in the Cortelyou Jazz Jam at Bar Chord, 9pm.
