Happy Saturday! If you’re looking for something to do close to home this weekend, here are some great options:
Saturday, July 13
- The Lavender Blues Singalong is at Lark, 10-11am.
- Kids 3-5 and their caretakers can attend Ready, Set, Kindergarten! at the Cortelyou Library, 11am.
- Donation-based yoga at the Prospect Park Peristyle, 11am; kids-only class, 12pm.
- Pre-register to help Prospect Park’s Weekend Woodland Corps, meeting at the Picnic House parking lot, 10am-2pm.
- Sustainable Flatbush’s Healing Herb Garden Saturday open hours are at 2103 Kenmore Terrace, 10am-2pm (with compost open hours 10am-12pm).
- See Alex Levin and guests play jazz at Purple Yam, 12-2:30pm.
- Take a Yoga Nidra class with flautist Eric Fraser at Jaya Yoga East (pre-registration suggested), 1-2:30pm.
- Learn about 19th Century life at the Lefferts 2nd Floor Tours, Lefferts Historic House, Saturdays and Sundays 1pm-3:30pm (tours every half hour).
- Ezra Jack Keats Story Hour is at the Imagination Playground in Prospect Park, 2-3pm.
- Kids can tend to the potato plot at History in Your Hands: Pulling Weeds on the Farm, also at the Lefferts Historic House, Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4pm.
- “Honey, Dear” Vintage Jazz is on at Lark, 4-5pm.
- Watch Dracula with The Philip Glass Ensemble and Kishi Bashi at Celebrate Brooklyn! at the Prospect Park Bandshell, 7:30pm.
- Salvo plays Bar Chord, 9pm.
- Names You Can Trust is back for their weekly party in the bar space at Sycamore, 10pm.
- Belt Parkway West plays 773 Lounge, 10pm.
Sunday, July 14
- Toddlers can play and sing at Toddler Time with Mary Jo, Lark, 10-10:30am.
- Take a hike with an Urban Park Ranger, starting at the Prospect Park Picnic House at 11am.
- Kids can hear Tammy Hall tell stories at the Lefferts Historic House at 2 and 3pm.
- Yoon Sun Choi plays at Sunday Jazz for the Family, Lark, 4-5pm.
- Sit zazen at Third Root, 6:45-7:15pm.
