Ditmas Park Rental Roundup

Looking for an apartment to rent in or around Ditmas Park? We’ve rounded up a few spaces available in the neighborhood to help you on your hunt. If you live in one of the apartment buildings, let prospective neighbors know how you like it.

Two Bedroom in a House
Available: Immediately
Price: $1,650, plus broker’s fee
Details: This unit in a private home is about $350 less than most of the other two beds we saw listed this week, but not totally without reason. It looks very cozy, so don’t plan on bringing a lot of stuff–and it’s carpeted, which is practical but not terribly attractive. If neither of those makes you bat an eye though, the location sounds good and the price sounds even better.

Insanely Priced Four (or Average Two) Bed Off the Main Drag
Available: February 1
Price: $2,200, plus broker’s fee
Details: Alright, here’s the thing about this listing–the price is incredible, the unit is at the intersection of Cortelyou and CIA, it looks really nicely renovated… and 8/10 Yelp reviewers hate the realty company. One of the exceptions, as it turns out, is my friend Jess, with whom I tried to make a list of things she liked once and we only made it to number three before giving up. So even if the language in the ad makes it sort of confusing as to whether two out of the four bedrooms are in a railroad setup, if Jess likes the realtor and says they reduced the broker fee for her, that’s the equivalent of several five star reviews in my eyes. Might be worth a call.

Flexible in a Rugby Road House
Available: Immediately
Price: $2,500, plus broker’s fee
Details: This unit near Avenue H has been freshly renovated, and has one of the most wonderful open kitchens we’ve ever seen in a rental listing. There’s also a pretty vintage mantel, hardwood floors, access to a rear deck, and an extra half bath, plus you have the option of using a second, pass through room for bed, office/studio, closet, or storage space. If you work from home, have a cat, and love to cook, this could be the place for you.

Four Bed Near the Park with Realtor Options
Available: Immediately
Price: $2,695, plus broker’s fee
Details: This apartment doesn’t look as nice as the other four bed this week, but since the other four bed may be more like a two bed and the professionalism of its broker is questionable, this place near Prospect Park is worth listing. Aside from the still pretty low price, this fourth floor unit has some prewar details and will put you close to both the incredible stuff popping up on Church Avenue and the subway when Q train platform work starts up again next month. Plus, with four brokers to choose from through this ad, you might be able to play some hardball with that fee.
