Ditmas Park History: On The Mall

We pass the intersection of Stratford and Albemarle pretty much daily, and think that the second house in has one of the best sun porches around. Was it always that way?

This July 1962 photo from Brooklyn Visual Heritage shows that while the structures were pretty much the same, the outside of that sun porch used to be painted white (which was nice, too, but we think the stripped wood is beautiful and unusual). We just can’t wait for the trees to look like that in July!
