Before you go to bed on Saturday night, remember to change your clocks! Daylight saving time begins at 2am on Sunday, March 8, which means you are going to lose an hour of sleep as you roll the clock forward, but hopefully you’ll enjoy that little bit of extra daylight at the end of the afternoon next week.

As always, it’s also a great reminder to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, so remember to grab some batteries while you’re out and about in the next couple days. The FDNY’s Fire Safety Education Unit is distributing them for free throughout the five boroughs this week, including at the following locations:

Thursday, March 5
Corner of 13th Avenue & 53rd Street, 12-4pm
Corner of Avenue L & Coney Island Avenue, 12-4pm
Target, 139 Flatbush Avenue, 4-8pm

Friday, March 6
Coney Island Terminal, corner of Stillwell & Mermaid Avenues, 4-6pm

Saturday, March 7
Target, 139 Flatbush Avenue, 12-4pm
