  • A month after SUNY Downstate tabled a campaign to buy Long Island College Hospital, a competing plan to build apartments has emerged, Crain’s New York Business reported. The plan, spearheaded by the Brooklyn Hospital Center and private investors, would close the hospital to build 1,000 mixed-income apartments.
