If you didn’t already hear, the National Basketball Association awarded 2015 All-Star weekend honors jointly to Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center yesterday. While the Garden will play host to the All-Star Game, the home of the Brooklyn Nets will host the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, including the three-point and slam dunk contests. It’s the fifth time the festivities will be held in New York City, after previously being hosted at the Garden in 1954, 1955, 1968 and 1998. What do you think about the news, locals?

There are still a few seats available at tonight’s free concert reading of “Alice in the Time of the Jabberwock” at American Opera Projects at 138 South Oxford Street. The one-act play reinterprets the ending the classic story of “Alice in Wonderland.” Instead of going home, Alice has never escaped Wonderland. She was crowned queen and is now going through menopause, while becoming disillusioned with her life. RSVP here for the 8 p.m. show at the Great Room, in the South Oxford Space.
If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow night, the Kumble Theater at Long Island University Brooklyn has you covered with the multi-layered musical performance “Circle Unbroken is a Hard Bop” at 7:30 p.m. The performance tells the story of three African-American artists who come of age during the politically and culturally late 1960’s and 70’s.
