The Day: A Community Board Meeting and a Biking Masseur

We already know Fort Greene and Clinton Hill rooftops provide gorgeous views during the evening. Looks like the early morning view, pictured here, is just as beautiful. (Photo by Francisco Daum)

Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

You can expect high temperatures in the mid-60s today, though it will get cool tonight with temperatures in the low 50s, according to the National Weather Service. The rain may be coming back on Thursday and Friday though, so keep your umbrellas at hand.

  • Community Board 2 will hold its October General Meeting at the Polytechnic Institute’s Dibner Building – 5 Metrotech Center – today at 6 p.m. The meeting will cover, among other topics, Steiner Studios’ plans for new sound stages along Kent Avenue, the design for the portion of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway on Flushing Avenue between Navy Street and Williamsburg Street West, and the expansion of dedicated bus lanes on Fulton Street between Flatbush and Lafayette Avenues.
  • In need of a massage? Maybe you’ve seen Kip Yates biking around the nabe with his massage equipment in tow. The 42-year-old masseur, who runs a business called Massage Refresh, makes house calls in Fort Greene, Williamsburg, Park Slope and DUMBO, as well as Manhattan below 14th Street, DNAinfo reported.”Biking gets me to my clients faster because I never have to worry about traffic,” Yates told the site. “Plus, it reduces my carbon footprint and also reduces my rates.” Before pursuing his massage therapist work full-time, Yates was a corporate tax software developer, according to the site.
