Dale Talde’s Pork Slope Has Closed And Thistle Hill Tavern To Shutter Soon; Team To Open Tavern Near Barclays

The trilogy of Dale Talde restaurants in Park Slope is shrinking fast.

Pork Slope is the first to close its doors, which was first reported by the New York Post. The “Americana bar food” restaurant opened in August 2012, but the beer and whiskey has stopped flowing on 5th Avenue.

That’s not the only big change for the business partners, collectively known as Three Kings Restaurant Group. They will also shutter Thistle Hill Tavern (441 7th Avenue at 15th Street). An official closing date has not yet been announced.

Thistle Hill Tavern opened in March 2010. The two partners originally opened it with Fat Mike of legendary punk band NOFX, but the ownership team subsequently brought in Dale Talde of Top Chef fame to “right the ship,” according to The Infatuation.

In July, we reported that both Pork Slope (247 5th Avenue near Carroll Street) and Thistle Hill Tavern (441 7th Avenue at 15th Street) were up for rent. “The spaces are for sale, however at this point we are just exploring options and testing the market,” a spokesperson told the Stoop during the summer.

While the partners will have much less business in Park Slope, they have big plans for other openings.

Three Kings Hospitality will be opening Atlantic Social Club in the old Tony Roma’s restaurant space near Barclay’s (673 Atlantic Avenue). Eater describes the restaurant as an “old style New York tavern.”

“It’s a place where you can feel comfortable having a cheeseburger alone at the bar, eating steak with a group of friends, celebrating birthdays or having date nights,” partner David Massoni said.

And they’ll be extending into Manhattan as well. In the Arlo NoMad Hotel (11 East 31st Street), they will open three spaces, including an Italian place called Massoni, Grub Street reported.

They’ll also open 218-seat Rice & Gold at Hotel 50 Bowery in Manhattan’s Chinatown. They plan for three other venues in the hotel as well.

According to Eater, Atlantic Social Club, as well as the new places at Arlo NoMad will open at the end of 2016. The Hotel 50 Bowery will follow in 2017.
