Crown Heights Blotter: Popular Jerk Chicken Restaurant Robbed At Gunpoint, Sexual Assault
CROWN HEIGHTS — The restaurant that brings you the best sidewalk BBQ in Crown Heights was robbed earlier this month and police are looking for the two suspects.
On April 11, around 2:30 am (kitchen closes at midnight), a man approached Royal Cuisine Yard Food restaurant at 324 Utica Avenue while another man stayed outside. Once inside, the suspect brandished a gun and demanded money.
The unidentified man took $900 from the register and fled towards President Street. There were no reported injuries.
The two men wanted for questioning are both black, between 20- and 30-years-old and were wearing dark clothes.
CROWN HEIGHTS/PROSPECT HEIGHTS — Meanwhile, on the other side of town, police are looking for a man possibly in connection to a sexual assault at the border of Crown Heights and Prospect Heights, within the confines of the 77 pct.
On Sunday, April 21, just before midnight, an unidentified man asked a 27-year-old victim for a lighter as she was walking inside a near St. John’s Place and Underhill Avenue. The man then followed the woman inside the building and to her floor before wrestling her to the ground and sexually assaulting her.
The victim managed to fight the assailant off, causing him to flee in an unknown direction. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) treated and released the victim at the scene.
Police are looking for a black or Hispanic man with a medium complexion, weighing from 175 lbs. to 200 lbs. at about 5′ 7″tall. He was last seen wearing a hooded shirt, Adidas track pants and black sneakers.
CROWN HEIGHTS/BEDFORD STUYVESANT — Police are looking for two men in connection with robbing teenagers of their cell phones.
