A man ran naked through the halls of St. Bernadette Parish (8201 13th Avenue) in Dyker Heights, causing panic and destroying church property. Brooklyn News is reporting that the man’s antics cost St. Bernadette over $10,000 in damages.

The loon is question was identified as 43-year-old Staten Island native Erik Feldman. Last Thursday, in the late afternoon around 4:45 p.m., Feldman burst into St. Bernadette with his pants around his ankles, wearing no underpants, in the full sight of the clergy. Brooklyn News described Feldman’s subsequent actions as well as his arrest:

Horrified clergy got a full-frontal view as he smashed nearly 50 glass votive candles, tossed holy books on the floor and dumped gallons of holy water from a storage tank onto the mess, records state.
Feldman was charged with criminal mischief, public lewdness and exposure of a person.
He has a prior arrest on a charge of violating an order of protection, sources said.

I wonder if he was on drugs, or off the ones he should have been on. Either way, hopefully Feldman gets the help he needs.
